There are over 90 golf courses in Northern Ireland. This presents you, the golfer, with great choice and variety when finding the right course to play.Each county has its fair share of fine links…all with their own unique playability. County Down, Antrim and Londonderry have beautiful coastal courses with sweeping sand-dunes and encompass the championship fairways, namely, Royal Portrush and Royal County Down. These courses both rank in the international top twenty.
Belfast also boosts a great selection of golf courses, with a least a dozen within five miles of the city centre. Great if you are on holiday with the family, and you want time to yourself for a while. Belfast city centre has lots of other interesting things for the family to enjoy. When booking a round of golf in Northern Ireland, it is good practice to arrange your tee-off as soon as you know what dates you want. Courses can be quite busy during good weather and holiday seasons. Green fees are moderately priced and depend upon the calibre of the course. They range from as little as £5 to over £100 for 18-holes. Reductions can usually be negotiated for groups and golf societies who are visiting. Most Northern Ireland golf clubs also have reductions for visitors playing with a member as well as lower rates for under 18’s and students.
